The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USCâs Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology is a unique facility that unites world-class researchers in a variety of disciplines centered around structures of the craniofacial region. Since its inception in 1991, CCMB has been home to several major discoveries and has attracted top researchers from around the world. USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is looking for a talented Research Lab Tech II to join the CCMB team. We will need a candidate who has prior experience with the following: Skills: Laboratory: General Laboratory Techniques Maintenance of Lab Notebook Preferred Field of Expertise: Prefer familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment In addition to this Research Lab Technician IIâs expertise, he/she will perform and train to use equipment for Immunology, Molecular genetics, Flow Cytometry, Microbiology, DNA & RNA isolation from FFPE tissues, RT qPCR, RT2 Profiler PCR Array, Immunohistochemistry, Tissue microarray, Digital image analysis and therefore goals and objective will be met. This will be a 1 year fixed-term assignment. Job Announcement: Provides general laboratory assistance to support research activities. Conducts research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Field of Expertise: Bachelor Degree in related field can be substituted for minimum experience requirements. A working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols is also required. Skills: Laboratory: General Laboratory Techniques Maintenance of Lab Notebook Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 2 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
