Pediatric Genetic Counselor

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks a full time genetic counselor at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock, Arkansas who is BE/BC with the American Board of Genetic Counseling to join an academic pediatric genetics practice.

JOIN OUR PEDIATRIC GENETICS TEAM THAT INCLUDES:

• Clinical team includes 3 physicians, 3 genetic counselors, 1 genetic counseling assistant, 1 specialty nurse, and 2 metabolic nutritionists with active growth plan at primary hospital.
• Satellite hospital also with independent genetic services.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

• Clinical duties include opportunities to work in general genetics clinics, metabolic clinics as well as multidisciplinary clinics
• Roles to serve the inpatient population also available

PRACTICE IS BASED AT ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL:

• Only tertiary-care pediatric hospital in Arkansas with a population of 2.8 million is the major pediatric referral center for Arkansas serving children from birth to age 21.
• Staff consists of more than 500 faculty, 200 residents (95 pediatrics), and 4,400 support staff.
• The campus spans 36 city blocks and the hospital includes 336 beds, and offers three intensive care units.
