Research Genetic Counselor

Position Summary The Sergievsky Center of Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a board-certified genetic counselor who is bilingual/bicultural in Spanish and English for a new study of the psychosocial impact of learning the results of Alzheimer's disease genetic susceptibility testing. Responsibilities The study participants will be Latinos residing in northern Manhattan. The genetic counselor will participate as a member of a research team actively collecting and managing data on participant's responses to genetic testing. Responsibilities include developing and validating culturally sensitive materials for education about genetics and genetic testing, and working with other team members to plan and carry out sessions for genetics education, risk disclosure, survey data collection, and follow-up. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus four years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications
