Job Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day lab operation and perform general lab duties including, but not limited to: preparation of stock solutions and media ; equipment maintenance ; cleaning of glassware (80%).
Work independently on projects including but is not limited to) designing and performing experiments daily , collecting and analyzing data, and communicating results to the Principal Investigator (20%).
We seek a candidate with basic experience in tissue cell culture and/or bacterial cell culture, as well as experience in molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, cloning, DNA/protein quantification, DNA, and SDS PAGE electrophoresis, Western blot analysis) and microbiology techniques (sterile technique, bacterial isolation, serial dilutions)
In addition to being able to independently drive a research project, we are seeking an individual with superior organization skills to streamline lab operations by assisting with other major research projects in our research group. We are seeking at least a 2 year commitment.

Requirements: - Master's degree with two years of relevant scientific experience or a BA/BS degree with four years of relevant scientific experience. - Ability and desire to learn new experimental approaches, sometimes independently or with limited guidance. - Experience with molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, molecular cloning, DNA/protein quantification, DNA and SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, Western blot analysis). - Experience with basic microbiology techniques (excellent sterile technique; bacterial culturing, isolation, and identification; serial dilutions). - Experience troubleshooting experimental protocols. - Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to keep meticulous records. - Ability to provide written reports summarizing results and identifying key conclusions. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
Preferred skills: -Prefer a Master's degree -Experience using statistical methods and/or bioinformatics tools (analysis of DNA sequencing or proteomics data). -Experience preparing manuscripts. -Experience with project development including literature review and grant proposal preparation. -Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, quickly extracting data using formulas such as vlookup, countif, if).
