Position open for a Computational Data Analyst at Harvard Medical School to join a team using high-throughput technologies and computational tools to unravel the mysteries of the immune system, in normal defenses and in autoimmune diseases. The Computational Data Analyst will work in close collaboration with experimental investigators in the lab, and also partake in the Immunological Genome Project (ImmGen), a consortium of immunology and computational biology labs. They will develop data-specific algorithms, and/or evaluate software suites developed elsewhere, to best extract specific answers from large immuno-genomics datasets (single-cell RNAseq, epigenomic profiling, microbiome, CRISPR screens). Will do so using advanced multivariate statistics and AI/ML approaches (DNN), implemented in R, Python, MatLab. They will be responsible for implementation of data analysis and display tools used by experimentalists in the lab, and in training them to use these tools. Will handle core data processing and management, and may also partake in development and deployment of web visualization tools for ImmGen data and knowledge. These responsibilities will be enabled by coordination with computational collaborators and other resources in the laboratory, at HMS and the Broad Institute, and across the Boston and ImmGen communities. We are looking for a strong team player, who also has the experience and range to take full responsibility for projects, and harness the available resources as needed.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Sciences or a closely related field. 3+ years demonstrated experience in software development or bioinformatics. Advanced degree may count toward experience
Experience in genomic data analysis, in multivariate statistics applied to biomedicine, or in deep machine learning would be a plus
