Proteomics Research Scientist
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab's (LBNL) Agile BioFoundry (ABF) and Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) programs in the Biological Systems & Engineering Division has an opening for a Research Scientist with experience in analytical mass spectrometry, proteomics methods development, and automation.
In this exciting role, you will independently perform the development and optimization of bioanalytical methods for protein quantification in microbes of interest to the ABF and JBEI. You will (a) initiate and direct methods development for high-throughput, quantitative proteome analysis and guide implementation at other ABF labs and across JBEI, (b) lead efforts to automate omics protocols to enable high-throughput sample preparation and data acquisition methods (c) apply methods to assess the effects of genetic manipulation of microbes on the production of bioproducts by using chromatographic and omics techniques, and (d) contribute to overall ABF and JBEI project development and data analysis methods to inform subsequent process improvements.
