Department MEDICAL & MOLECULAR GENETICS (IN-MMGE-IUINA) Job Summary Serve as bioinformatician for genetic research studies; manipulate large datasets and perform automated and manual genetic analyses. Meet with investigators to evaluate individual research projects, provide appropriate analysis from study protocols or standards for research generated data, review and summarize analytic results, present results to investigators. Assist in grant applications and manuscript preparation. Required Qualifications Master's degree in bioinformatics/computational biology/systems biology/computer science/statistics; OR master's degree in genetics and six months of relevant work experience; OR bachelor's degree and four years of relevant work experience. Strong programming skills. Proficiency in in scripting language such as Perl or Python. Experience with relational database and SQL queries. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and distributed infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-throughput genomic data and knowledge in statistics and statistical language such as "R".
