RESEARCH FELLOW
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
The Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral opportunity to work with Dr. Hayley McLoughlin on translational and mechanistic studies for the neurodegenerative disease Spinocerebellar Ataxia type 3 (SCA3). SCA3 is a fatal polyglutamine disease with no cure. Our ultimate goal is to develop an effective therapy for SCA3 patients as well as discover salient biomarkers of disease progression from patient biofluids. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in molecular neuroscience and proteomic data analysis. This is an interdisciplinary project with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, stem cells, and mouse models of disease.
