Pediatric/General Genetic Counselor with Faculty Appointment

Boston University Medical Center seeks a full-time genetic counselor to join the Division of Pediatrics with faculty appointment at the Boston University School of Medicine. The counselor will provide genetic counseling services for children, adults, and families with a broad range of genetic conditions (intellectual disability, ASD, malformation syndromes, birth defects, family history of genetic conditions, etc.) out of the Pediatric Specialty Group clinic at Boston Medical Center and will participate in a program to optimize genetic lab services at the institution. Consideration for involvement in other areas of genetic counselor such as cancer genetic or research can be considered based on candidate interest. The genetic counselor must be self-directed, perform at a high level of independence, and seek case consultation as needed. The counselor will also participate in clinical supervision for genetic counseling students when appropriate and would fill a faculty position within the Boston University M.S. Genetic Counseling Program, working alongside a team of other GCs, the GC Program Director and a medical geneticist. Applicants must be board certified or eligible with a Master's degree in human genetics/genetic counseling from an accredited program. Provisional or full genetic counseling license for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required. Experience is preferred; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
