Employment Type: Permanent Staff (SHRA) Vacancy ID: P012362 Salary Range: $80,000-$99,000 Position Summary/Description: THIS IS A TIME LIMITED POSITION The Biostatistician will become a key member of a dynamic research team by providing critical research expertise for complex high-dimensional data analysese in biomedical / environmental health research that includes: Major responsibilities will include supervising experimental design, data collection and data management, developing and establishing new statistical methods and bioinformatics pipelines for high-dimensional genomics, epigenomics, metabolomics and exposomics data, discovering new research hypothesis using data mining strategies, performing statistical analyses of high quality, accuracy and consistency for research projects, writing and revising research proposals and grants, statistical power calculations, and training/advising students and postdoctoral researchers on statistical methods and data analyses. The sucessful candidate will have strong statistical computational background and expertise in analyzing high-dimensional genomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, exposomics and microbiome data to support research activivites of the team. Education and Experience: Master’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and two years of research/analysis, preferably with one year in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Essential Skills: - Expertise in a range of advanced statistical methodologies with application to high-dimensional data analysis; Preferred : It is preferred that the incumbent possess a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field; have a capacity for learning new technical skills independently; possess excellent written and oral communication skills; and have outstanding programming skills (R and SAS preferred) for omics data analysis.
