Computational scientist in Emerging Business and Innovation is talented and highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist to lead our bioinformatics strategy in the innovation team. The candidate will initially focus on genomic diseases in pediatric rare diseases, maternal fetal medicine, Oncology and translate complex molecular data into insights on disease heterogeneity and mechanism of action of our therapeutics. The candidate will work closely with the other scientists in the Emerging business and Innovation team.
Perform quality control on DNA/RNA sequencing data
Analyze sequencing data to extract biological insights
The candidate will support our disease biomarker strategies, leading data analysis efforts for internal studies and external collaborations relating to understanding clinical aspects of disease through genetics, transcriptomics, and other biomarker data across clinical data sets.
Contribute to study design and protocol development to enable novel experimentation and method development
Collaborate between experimental, computational scientists, and clinicians
Work with the team to synthesize findings into measurable outcomes
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Knowledge of science
Ability to synthesize latest research ideas to innovate clinical products
Required: Ph.D. in Biology with Informatics focus, Biomedical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related field. Strong candidates with a Master’s degree and appropriate experience will be considered.
Additional Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have technical experience in genomics data, proteomics data, metabolomics data and any other type of un structual data.Commercial (clinical, biotech, pharma, etc) experience using bioinformatics and computational science techniches in research and development of diagnostic products is a plus.
