![]() Assistant Project Scientist - Neuroscience - Molecular and Cell Biology The successful candidate will work as an Assistant Project Scientist in Neuroscience in the Lammel lab at UC Berkeley. The Lammel lab uses a combination of molecular and system neuroscience tools to visualize, record and manipulate neural populations in order to understand their function and contribution to motivated behavior. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and highly collaborative environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will utilize transgenic mouse models to characterize dopamine cell subtypes using in vivo electrophysiology, and various manipulation methods including optogenetics to modulate neural activity during behavioral assays. Minimum Qualifications required at the time of application: Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) Additional Qualifications required by position start date: A track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals. Preferred Qualifications: At least 4 years of Postdoc experience, previous experience working with in vivo electrophysiology, neuroanatomy, rodent behavior and/or bioinformatics is an advantage. Programming skills (MATLAB, Python) and ability in data analysis and visualization is a strong advantage. Salary: This is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
