The Greene Laboratory at the Gladstone Institutes seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to focus on studies exploring the molecular biology of HIV latency or studies further dissecting HIV pathogenesis including how CD4 T cells are depleted.
âªRequirements: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated PhD, MD or MD-PhD scientist with relevant expertise in molecular biology and immunology including an outstanding record of scientific productivity reflected by primary publications.
Due to the broad scope of experimental questions, we employ a wide range of molecular, biochemical, cell biological and immunological techniques to study HIV pathogenesis and HIV latency. Increasingly, we are utilizing an ex vivo human lymphoid aggregate culture (HLAC) system formed with fresh human tonsillar or splenic tissues. Our studies often take advantage of the outstanding core services offered at the Gladstone Institutes including: Assay Development and Drug Discovery, Bioinformatics, Flow Cytometry, Genomics, Histology & Light Microscopy, Mass Spectrometry, and Stem Cell Biology. Work in the laboratory builds on prior publications including Ruelas DS et al., Cell 155:519-29, 2013; Doitsh G et al, Cell 143:789-801, 2010; Doitsh G et al, Nature 505:509-14, 2014; Monroe K et al, Science 343:428-32, 2014; Munoz-Arias I et al, Cell Host & Microbe 18: 463-470, 2015; Galloway, N, Cell Rep 12:1555-1563, 2015; Besnard E, et al., Cell Host & Microbe 20:785-797, 2016; and Cavrois, M et al.
