Postdoctoral Associate Position in Environmental Engineering (Applied Microbiology)

The Silverman research group at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering is searching for a post-doctoral scholar to join our NSF-sponsored project evaluating and modeling the degradation of antibiotic resistance genes in surface waters. The post-doctoral scholar will be responsible for developing and implementing a novel DNA sequencing-based assay to characterize DNA degradation due to environmental stressors. The post-doctoral scholar will be based at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn, NY. Funding is available for 18 months, with extension after the first year depending on satisfactory performance. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applicants should have a PhD in environmental engineering, applied or public health microbiology, genomics or bioinformatics, or related fields.
