 University of California Irvine LABORATORY ASSISTANT II Updated: Jan 8, 2021 Location: UC Irvine Campus Job Type: Department: MOLECULAR BIO & BIOCHEMISTRY Job Opening ID: 14381 Reports To: Professor Working Title: Laboratory Assistant II Department: Molecular Bio & Biochemistry Bargaining Unit: TX FLSA: NE Payroll Job Code: 009603 Job Location: UCI Campus-Irvine Percent of Time: 100% Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F Employee Class: Career Position Summary: Under supervision from the Principal Investigator, the incumbent performs standard repetitive laboratory procedures that require technical knowledge and skill in the field of biology. Additionally, incumbent will be responsible for laboratory supplies and maintenance. Compensation Range: Hourly: $19.36 - $20.90 Department Website: http://mbb.bio.uci.edu Required: Laboratory research experience in a biochemistry/molecular biology laboratory. Experience maintaining and/or preparing cell cultures and protein samples for mass spectrometry. Experience maintaining instrumentation. Experience performing bioinformatics tasks. Ability to perform duties with care, focus and strong attention to detail. Ability to carry out independent laboratory research procedures. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. Basic computer skills. Final candidate subject to background check.
