Location: West Hartford, CT Category: Adjunct Faculty Posted On: Wed Dec 9 2020 Job Description: The University of Saint Joseph invites qualified applicants to serve as part-time adjunct faculty within the Biology Department. Applicants will be considered for both lecture and laboratory courses. Successful candidates will be qualified to teach in one or more of the following subject areas: For our in-person undergraduate programs: General Biology Laboratory, Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, Anatomy and Physiology Lecture For our online graduate programs: Cell Biology, Genomics/Proteomics, Organismal Biology, Microbiology (i.e bacteriology and infectious diseases), Environmental Science/Ecology The Biology Department in the School of Arts, Sciences, Business and Education offers both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology, as well as a B.S. in Bioinformatics. In addition to serving Biology majors, the department provides service courses for Nursing, Nutrition, Health Science, Biochemistry, and Exercise Science majors. Faculty in the department are actively involved in mentoring research, and tailor degree electives to specific career focuses such as healthcare, environmental science, and biomedical science. Additional Information: Teaching assignments are part-time, on a semester basis only and are dependent on student enrollment and department need. All adjunct offers are contingent on sufficient enrollment. Courses are offered in a variety of formats (as decided upon by the Registrar's Office) including in-person, synchronous online, and asynchronous online. Courses are offered at various times, including day, evening, weekdays, and Saturdays. Please indicate in your cover letter your general availability and your experience teaching in various formats. Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties.
