Director for Biometrics Shared Resource/Biostatistician

Position Summary: Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, a National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks applications at the Associate Professor to Professor level for a Director for the Biometrics Shared Resource (BSR). A tenure-track position with a competitive research package is available for the right candidate. The academic appointment will be in the Rutgers School of Public Health with a resident faculty appointment at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The BSR consists of seven PhD faculty who engage in collaborative research with clinicians and scientists at Rutgers Cancer Institute as well as three Master's level research staff who provide programming and data analysis support. The Director is responsible for the overall operation of the biometrics/biostatistics resource, providing lead expertise in research project design and development, supporting multidisciplinary and evolving science at the Rutgers Cancer Institute, under the guidelines of the NCI- Cancer Center Support Grant, and for writing the biometrics portion of the CCSG renewals in accordance with these guidelines. The BSR is a high quality unit providing easy access to the optimal range of capabilities to our Cancer Center members under the Direction of the Associate Director for Shared Resources. The Director is expected to maintain an understanding of the cancer center members with regard to cancer focus and peer-reviewed funding to enable optimal prioritization and execution of services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in exciting teaching and mentorship activities for junior faculty and students at the Rutgers School of Public Health. As a member of Rutgers Cancer Institute, this position will have the opportunity to collaborate with an exceptional, CTSA-funded bioinformatics group. The Rutgers School of Public Health is devoted to an interdisciplinary model, which aims to improve health locally, domestically and worldwide through a unique blend of public health research and practice. We seek candidates with a sustained record of peer reviewed grant funding and publications in biostatistical fields. Experience in a biometrics shared resource in NCI designated/affiliated cancer center is preferred. The optimal candidate will have expertise in developing methods in emerging areas of statistics directly relevant to cancer research, including innovative clinical trial designs and precision genomics.
