Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Columbia University
Summary Description: The department of Systems Biology (DSB) is seeking a qualified candidate for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position. The candidate will contribute to computational research performed in Dr. Aris Floratos's laboratory, in the context of interdisciplinary collaborations with experimental and computational scientists in diverse research areas, including cancer and immunology. This work involves integrative analysis of multimodal datasets, including bulk and single-cell molecular profiles (e.g., gene expression, microRNA, epigenomics, genetic, and genomic data), leveraging well-established computational pipelines as well as novel network biology methodologies developed by our group and our DSB collaborators. This position requires a PhD in a domain related to biomedical research and computational sciences. Applicants should have a strong computational background (including background in machine learning, physics, mathematics, and related sciences) combined with a good understanding of molecular biology. The ideal candidate is expected to complement this experience with strong programming skills and working knowledge of existing genomic analysis tools. The successful candidate will be able to work and thrive at the interface between laboratory science and computational biology.
