Postdoctoral Associate in Pediatric Research

Location: IU School of Medicine Department: IUSM - Pediatrics Campus: IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Announcement: Two post-doctoral associate positions are available in the Dr. Lei Yang Lab at the Department of Pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine. IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the United State and ranks top 33 NIH funded medical schools in the nation. Compensation is at NIH scale. The successful candidate will have access to the generous IU retirement benefit package. The primary focus of our research is on the roles of long non-coding RNAs in human heart development and cardiovascular disease. We primarily use human embryonic stem (ES) cells, patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and mouse models. Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, cell biology or cardiovascular related fields. The solid experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, or small animal heart surgeries, strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative research environment and independently are required. Preference will be given to individuals with hands-on experience associated with lncRNA, epigenetics or mouse heart surgeries. Bioinformatics skills are a plus.
