Verge Genomics is seeking a hands-on technical lead to ensure the best bioinformatic practices and processes are applied to our drug discovery platform, while mentoring team members on these concepts. You will apply a variety of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis methods, including RNAseq, to support our drug discovery efforts. What you’ll do: Become a technical lead and engineering expert on our platform for analyses including RNA sequencing, gene coexpression network discovery, identification of master regulator genes, and analysis of drug screening data Improve the usability and rigor of our platform, by incorporating new methods, building automated testing suites, and developing performance benchmarks Collaborate with the team to engineer new analysis methods into our platform Improve the usability of our platform by engineering new features, such as server-side job queues and web portal-based GUIs. Collaborate with our team to document our methods for long-lasting value, including code “cookbooks” and web-based documentation of our API Ensure the rigor of our software platform, including code reviews and management of our GitHub repositories Coach and mentor team members with technical aspects of bioinformatics projects Architect additional ontologies into our PostgreSQL database, as needed, to support new methods and data While the team is currently working from home (WFH), our hope is that you will be open to joining us in person in our South San Francisco office/lab space in the future.
