Postdoctoral Scholar in Mosquito Sensory Integration & Neuroscience

Position DescriptionThe Riffell lab (http://faculty.washington.edu/jriffell/) is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar interested in mosquito sensory integration and neuroscience. The job will be 100% FTE with an annual service period of 12 months and is a non-tenured position not eligible for promotion. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possible reappointment for up to four years conditional on postdoc experience, performance and funding. This position will be available 1 September 2020 in the Riffell laboratory, located in the Department of Biology, College of Arts and Sciences, at the University of Washington. The project focuses on olfactory coupling between visual and mechanosensory systems in the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Applicants with experience in electrophysiology, neurogenetics, and/or computer vision methods for quantifying mosquito behavior are preferred, although not required. The most important aspect of this position is curiosity-driven science. Our laboratory is committed to having an inclusive and accepting environment. QualificationsCandidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. at the time of the position, and have experience in data analysis, project management, and manuscript writing.
