Requisition Number: 2020-199 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Genetics Cell Biology & Anatomy 50000507 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy is recruiting a postdoctoral trainee to pursue exciting research areas in normal/malignant hematopoiesis, and fundamental problems in cellular regulation, including epigenetics. The laboratory is located in the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which provides a highly collaborative scholarly environment for conducting innovative basic and translational/clinical research. We utilize diverse approaches to understand biological and mechanistic processes, including stem and progenitor cell function, blood cell development, and pathologies including cancer and bone marrow failure disorders. These studies involve genomics, proteomics, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, computational analysis, and powerful molecular, cellular, and biochemical methodologies in primary cells and mice. Postdoctoral trainees have opportunities to advance high-impact research projects in these areas, gain expertise in fellowship/grant/manuscript writing, and hone their critical thinking and presentation skills to prepare for careers in academia, private sector or other venues. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate shall hold a Ph.D., have no more than two prior years of postdoctoral experience, have published at least one important first-author paper from their doctoral research and have good communication/interaction skills. Supplemental Qualifications: Experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, and mouse modeling are preferred. Salary Range: Salary Commensurate with Experience
