Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research (CEDAR) center is a collaborative institution within the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of CEDAR researchers including but limited to Drs. Xiaolin Nan and Shandee Dixon to develop key questions related to 1) Biology of mutant Ras-driven cancers and strategies for intervention at its early stage; or (2) early cancer biology with a focus on epigenetic mechanisms of tumorigenesis.
We are hiring 1 highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in two areas of cancer: early detection and signaling. In your cover letter, please specify which area(s) best meets your expertise and interests. This role will address fundamental questions in the onset of mutant KRas-driven cancers and strategies for detection and intervention. Ongoing CEDAR funded projects have made significant progress on multiplexed and multi-omic imaging of tumor cells and tissues. The candidate will work with current and emerging teams to tackle challenges in understanding and/or intervening key events during cellular transformation by mutant KRas: a) impact of mutant KRas on cell metabolism such as glycolysis and mitochondria ultrastructure and function; b) interactions between mutant KRas cells and the microenvironment, and how the interactions evolve during tumor development; and c) novel affinity agents or probes for the detection and/or therapeutic targeting of mutant KRas in early stage cancer. Candidate should have prior training in molecular and cell biology. Experience in tumor biology and quantitative.
