Specialist- Ingraham Lab A Specialist position with a minimum one-year commitment is available immediately in the Ingraham Laboratory at the Mission Bay campus of UCSF. The Ingraham Lab focuses on research about how estrogen triggers profound metabolic and behavioral responses to optimize female physiology. They seek to discover crucial hormone-responsive nodes in the brain and gut that maintain metabolic, skeletal, and cognitive health in female mice. Findings from their research program are highly relevant to women's health. This position will research estrogen receptor mediated action on novel pathways in female metabolism. There will be a specific focus on how to unravel mechanisms that drive female-specific osteogenesis after disrupting a brain-to-bone circuit. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, thinks creatively, and is able to make independent, intellectual contributions to their research as demonstrated by a record of publication and awarded funding.
