Research-Scientist Faculty Position Opportunity at the University of California, San Francisco, Parnassus/Mission Bay/China Basin The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full time Research-Scientist faculty position at UCSF Parnassus/Mission Bay/China Basin, CA. The selected candidate will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in In-Residence career track at UCSF, depending on qualifications and interests. Recruiting of a research-scientist to build upon emerging areas in non-invasive diagnostic testing. Most recent advances in next-generation sequencing platforms and the discovery of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) have already enabled a new wave of clinical testing in Non-invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT), cancer liquid biopsies, and minimally invasive metagenomic sequencing for undetected pathogens. To develop of synthetic and chemical biology approaches for T cell therapeutics. To develop of blood cells (hematopoiesis) depends on a complex series of events that involves many regulatory processes. Blood cancer or immunological diseases can develop if these developing cells have loss of function or gain of function mutations in genes that control development, function, growth or survival. The candidate will operate a research laboratory comprised of laboratory scientists, computational biologists, bioinformaticians to develop necessary fundamental technologies, new quantitative models, and explore clinical applications. Candidates must be board-certified in Clinical Pathology (CP) or Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP); MD or MD/PhD in Bioengineering, Genetics, Computational Biology, or related field; Minimum 5 years of experience in developing cfDNA testing or related fundamental technologies. Applicants are expected to have extramural funding and/or career development award funding with the ultimate goal to sustain an independent research laboratory.
