UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics and the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting an established cardiovascular researcher to direct and coordinate research efforts on congenital heart disease throughout the UCSF Pediatric Heart Center. In addition to expanding their own research program, the successful candidate will lead strategic planning and implementation of heart center wide research efforts to build a robust research infrastructure for innovative research in the Pediatric Heart Center. The position may be granted substantial salary and program development support. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Responsibilities will include oversight of educational and research activities in the Pediatric Heart Center and shared responsibility for heart center administration. The appointment will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor ranks of the In Residence faculty series. Laboratory and other space will be located in the Smith Cardiovascular Research Building on UCSF’s vibrant Mission Bay Campus. The successful candidate is expected to engage in academic activities within the Cardiovascular Research Institute. Required qualifications include a medical or doctoral degree with a minimum of three years as principal investigator of an established research program relevant to Pediatric Cardiology, and documented leadership experience in collaborative research infrastructure development. Relevant research areas might include cardiovascular developmental biology using model systems, cardiovascular genetics or epigenetics, patient-based research, or epidemiology in cardiovascular diseases. Preferred qualifications include a medical license with Board Certification in Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiac Intensive Care, Cardiac Anesthesia, or Surgery.
