Faculty Position as Director, Clinical Genetic Medicine
The Center for Human Genetics and Genomics (CHGG) at the NYU School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Director of a new Program in Clinical Genetic Medicine at the Associate or Full Professor levels. The CHGG, headed by Dr. Aravinda Chakravarti, focuses on developing a new science of human genetics, using statistical, computational, experimental and clinical approaches, to unravel the molecular basis of Mendelian and complex disease. We are seeking a dynamic, creative and innovative individual to build and lead an institution-wide program that organizes clinical genetics and genomics services, education and research throughout NYU Langone Health. The CHGG occupies new space, designed to foster highly collaborative and innovative research, and operates side-by side with the Institute for Systems Genetics, the Institute for Computational Medicine and the many clinical departments within the vibrant biomedical research environment at NYU Langone Health, as well as the active human genetics community in New York City. Collaborations with the New York Genome Center and other local institutions are encouraged. We are seeking colleagues with new ideas that will enable the delivery of contemporary clinical genetics services throughout our health system in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island and Florida. The NYULH system is comprised of six inpatient locations, three Emergency Departments, and over 235+ outpatient locations. A total of 1,519 beds and 98 operating rooms facilitate over 67,000 inpatient hospital discharges and over 6 million outpatient vists per year.
The successful candidates will hold a primary appointment in one of the many NYU School of Medicine Departments, and participate in one or more graduate training programs. For consideration, candidates should upload a CV, a 3 page research plan, and three recommendation letters to Interfolio by the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All application materials are due by 10/11/19.
