The Division of Genetic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington is recruiting a full time Associate Professor without tenure or Professor without tenure (commensurate with experience and qualifications), 12-month service period position, on the Physician-Scientist track.
Responsibilities include establishing an independent and extramurally-funded research program and being an active participant in teaching and mentoring graduate and postdoctoral students as well as junior faculty investigators.
There will be opportunities to work in areas of interest including human genetics, model organism genetics, neuro-development in congenital heart disease, systems, molecular and developmental neuroscience, behavioral neuroscience, addiction and psychiatric neuroscience, ischemia-reperfusion injury and systems level analyses of pathways involved in disease.

This position requires an MD, PhD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent)
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Applicants should have experience in areas of basic or translational laboratory-based research relevant to the developing adolescent brain or heart, broadly defined. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a track record of high impact, innovative research relevant to pediatric disorders.
