Access & Pricing Strategy (APS)
How We Do It: Ensuring pricing, contracting, and customer partnership excellence that sustains profitability and research investment
Develop and manage GNE product pricing strategies that support product access while maintaining profitability
Meet customer needs while driving net revenue for Genentech
Create innovative ideas and approaches to address customer challenges and build strong, strategic relationships
Increase Genentech value proposition to complex customers
Provide account-specific tools, programs, and/or initiatives for the Genentech portfolio
Proactively monitor the competitive and policy environment to support the future health of the portfolio
Develop novel pricing strategy and customer partnership approaches that best position Genentech for the future landscape
Provide an integrated (marketplace trends, cross-portfolio, cross-account) point of view on all topics related to access
Identify and synthesize access-related market trends to be leveraged for product strategies, to include potential implications, risks, and benefits
Provide cross-portfolio, cross-enterprise point of view for all access-related issues
Develop comprehensive, thoughtful contract analytics that outline the financials for account-specific contract decisions
Partner with internally to create account-specific strategic approaches and partnerships
Bachelor’s Degree (general business or finance disciplines are preferred)
MBA or other related graduate-level degree is a plus
A minimum of 2-3 years previous work experience in contract operations or financial analysis (may include 2 or more years significant previous experience administering managed care and/or government contracts in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry)
Knowledge of managed care, drug contracting, customers, distribution channels, and government price reporting is a plus
Strong knowledge of current policies and guidelines that affect contracts, pricing, rebates, etc. in the managed care environment
Strong knowledge of systems and reporting mechanisms that support contract operations particular to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industry
Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Experience using Business Objects or SAP is preferred
Knowledge writing departmental SOPs and training others in their use of SOPs is a plus
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong customer care focus
Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry is preferred, e.g., product marketing, managed care marketing, field sales, field account management, market planning, strategic planning, market research, market or sales analytics, customer finance, legal, customer service & operations, etc.
Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative, as well as any quantitative, targets and goals
Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings
