The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant to join Casanova Laboratory. The Research Assistant will be working primarily under the direct supervision of a Senior Researcher of the lab investigating human genetic basis of viral diseases and interacting with other researchers of the group. Will be responsible for designing, carrying out, reporting and recording experiments that aim to identify and characterize genetic disorders of the immune system. Responsibilities include analysis of databases, cloning and sequencing DNA, setting up and analyzing PCR experiments, tissue culture, and functional studies of the signaling pathways involved in viral diseases from patients and healthy controls
Bachelor's degree in science required; Master's degree and educational emphasis in biochemistry, molecular genetics, immunology, or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of three years of experience required and be detail- oriented, have a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and computer proficiency are required. Experience with Western blot and flow cytometry methods preferred.
