The Conrad lab at OHSU is seeking a computational biologist to assist in the development and application of methods for the study of genetic diseases. The primary interests of the Conrad lab are in the genetics of reproduction and development. The applicant will develop methods for characterizing rare genetic variation ascertained from genome sequencing of patients with rare reproductive disorders and neuropsychiatric disease. It is anticipated that these methods will be applied to emerging genome sequencing from non-human primates at the Oregon National Primate Research Center when such data are available.
The applicant will ideally be able to perform self-directed exploration and analysis of complex datasets, in addition to analyses under the direction of supervisors. This position requires a hard working, dedicated individual who has careful attention to detail. Strong computational skills are required for data analysis and documentation. Experience with human genetics research is not required, though is an advantage. Must interact and communicate effectively with bioinformatics and wet lab team members.
